A low-carb LIFESTYLE (not diet) will enable you to lose weight and keep it off.

This is the only way of eating that I have successfully lost weight and have kept it off for over a year (148 to 120). At first I felt withdrawal, obsessed with carbs, and thought I’d never be able to stick with it long term. Through persistance and the support of a great low-carb site, I managed to make this my lifestyle. I never liked counting calories, feeling hungry all the time, and feeling guilty about eating. Now I don’t have to. Low carb eating gives me control over my hunger and weight. The only things you are not eating when you low carb is simple carbs, trans fats, and starch. The only time it is very restrictive is the beginning of the diet, and that is to help you break your addiction to sugar, suppress your appetite, and get your body to burn it’s own fat.

low carb diets can be bad for you if u do it for a long time. Ur body needs both good and bad carbs inorder to perform daily functions. I fu go on a low carb diet, u would have to restrict both and bad carbs, so thats not good for ur body. Low carb diets DO work, but the problem is that it going to be hard for u to keep it up. Going on a low carb diet means restricting foods like bread, rice, sweets, and this can be hard to do. Otherwise if u can dicipline urself and keep a low carb diet, u will lose and keep a low weight. Good luck!

I have not tried it myself, but a good family friend has lost a significant amount of weight relatively quickly through a low-carb diet, and she has been able to continue it to this day and keep the weight off, with the help of exercise. It requires discipline and patience, because it’s definitely not easy to give up foods you are used to eating. The first week or two may be the hardest, because you will feel a lack of energy, but the feeling will eventually fade as your body is used to it. The low-carb diet doesn’t work for everyone, though, as is true with all diets.
A high-fiber diet is also effective, according to what I’ve read, but as far as I know no one I know has tried this diet, so I can’t report actual results.

As everyone will tell you losing weight permanently requires a lifestyle change, not a fad diet…. But as any body builder can tell you a low carb diet for a short period of time, 7-14 days, can have great results. This happens because of the way your body gets energy from food. Carbs provide 4 calories of energy per gram of food, while Fat provide about 9 calories of energy. Your body usually get most of its energy from the carbs you eat which are stored as sugar in your blood. It is allot easier for your body to use energy that is stored that way then to break down fat.
By going onto a NO carb diet. Your body is forced to begin consuming fat to provide itself with energy. This is done in a process called Ketosis. As your body stays in ketosis it will be constantly burning fat.
There are 2 very important things to know about this.
1. You MUST!!! not cheat and eat carbs while you are on this diet, if you start a no carb diet, then cheat in the middle your body can actually put itself into starvation mode, its not getting enough carbs to run, but its not burning fat either, so it will start storing everything you eat as fat, the body literally behaves as though you are starving.
2. In body building circles this is known as a keto run. Run because it should be short, as others have mentioned staying on a no carb diet for longer periods of time will have very serious side effects.
Just a couple of other notes, the 1st couple of days on a no carb diet can be hell, because your body hasn’t started feeding off your fat yet and is still looking for that sugar to feed itself, you can counter this by exercising like crazy the 1st day to force you body to find energy sooner. Also your brain runs on carbs so as you go on your diet you may notice that you actually feel dumber, this is temporary and will pass.

I felt really sick doing it, I would not recommend it to anyone.
Anytime the topic
of discussion in my blogs, articles or newsletters has turned to my own
personal grocery shopping list, there has always been a spike in interest.
The phrase, "negative
calorie food", as highlighted in negative calorie diet programs and
books, usually refers to foods that allegedly require more energy to digest
than they contain. Since the process of digestion requires the use of
calories for energy, sometimes the net amount of metabolizable energy
available from a food is less than the gross number of calories contained
in the food.
By now, most people
realize that adding lean muscle mass to your body does wonders for your
metabolism and fat loss, as well as a host of other benefits that allow
you to live out your life as healthy as possible.
In order to reap the
benefits from the intense exercise I recommend to my Fat Burning Furnace
students, you must get adequate rest. I cant stress this fact enough.
In fact, rest is just as important, if not more important that the actual
exercise.
