I’m Doing The Low Carb Diet; How Many Protein Bars A Day Is It Safe To Eat?

Atkins’ Chocolate Peanut Butter bars are my favorite and the “Carb Conscious” Supreme Protein bars are great as well. The main issue is that I get so busy during the day I snack on these instead of eating a regular high protein meal.

I would beware of eating more than four protein bars in a day, as some wrappers contain a warning that over indulging can cause a laxative effect.
Also, they taste like trash anyway, and belong in the dumpster. I’m surprised you’re able to get more than one down! Good luck! If you need a hand in disposing of your old protein bars as you (hopefully) transition to a better diet, call the folks at http://www.dumpstersource.com

Low carb diets are actually not that healthy for you in the long run. You need carbs to keep your brain functioning and for energy. I would recommend a healthy living diet. For example, eat a bunch of vegetables and lean proteins (both low in carbs), but also incorporate whole grains such as brown rice, whole grain pasta and bread. Don’t deprive yourself of these. Losing weight is a simple equation, burn more calories than you take in. One carb has 4 calories so even though you might be eating all low carb, those snacks you are having may contain a higher number of calories. Just eat healthy. Losing weight is 70% what you eat and 30% exercise. Don’t do low carb, you will lose weight and see longer lasting results this way.

Depends on the bar really. I know some that are loaded with carbs (sucrose). To “over consume” protein, you would be way over any allotted calorie target. I wouldn’t worry about that. I would worry more about the calories — and the cost. Those arent “cheap” snacks your having!
Bars make awesome snacks. But they aren’t meals. Ok? You know better then that. Its not about starvation, it’s about keeping your metabolism running.
Atkins works great IF you follow the program. Don’t stay at phase one longer then you need to be.

    MmMm those are GOOD!
-Only ONE a day, if you wanna stay True-Blue to your diet
    i Recommend:
-Either one in the morning so you can burn off all the carbs
-One at night for doing well on your diet
-Half in the morning & half at night!

avoid protein bars on a diet. They can contain lots of sugars and empty simple carbs. They’re really for gaining muscle not fat loss.
Eat an actual meal instead. Much better
