Anything with sugar is going to have carbs and is not good for a low carb diet
It is a very individual thing ..some people it effects and other it doesn’t. If you have a doubt about yourself lower your carbs till you turn keto sticks purple..eat some sugar alcohol carbs and test in a few hours. If your sticks are dramatically lighter it effects you. I will stop turning sticks so I know it effects me. My mom on the other hand can eat bag after bag of candy and still turn her sticks and lose weight anyways.
What do you mean by affect a low carb diet? If you are wondering where they fit in in the scheme of things.. They are sugars that have fewer calories than regular sugar.
For example, xylitol has about half the calories.
They are better on the glycemic scale. Also you wouldn’t eat a whole bunch of them at once (and you don’t want to anyway) so it won’t really spike your blood sugar quite so bad. that is why they are good for diabetics.
If you absolutely have to have some sweet stuff and you go with the “Sugar free” option (the one that includes sugar alcohols) it is better than regular sugar but they are still sugar, just a lower calorie sugar, and a little less sweet but they can taste good.
You still have to limit your amount of them but they are great to have a little in a candy emergency.
(This is opposed to artificial sugar like nutrasweet and splenda, which have close enough to zero calories, but still taste very very sweet. They are synthesized artificially)
Yes they do!
