I want a Porsche Cayenne, I want a bigger house and one on the beach. I'm sick of being in the middle class. I want immediate change so I can buy a jet.
What would you tell me? Maybe get a better job, open a business, play the stock market? In any event I would have to motivate myself and I would have to be patient for results. If I went and bought a get-rich scheme from some infomercial (even though I bought 20 of them just like it and NONE of them worked) what would you say to yourself? Would it be "This guys never learns. He is wasting time looking for a quick fix".
I write this analogy because there is no difference from it to your post. If you have done the low carb thing, you already know it doesn't work in the long run. Why would you waste months for a temporary fix only to be back where you started in a year? So not worth it.
50% Carbs (whole grain, fibrous vegetables, brown rice, etc)
25% protein (lean meats, fish, poultry, nuts, eggs, milk)
25% fat (unsaturated.. virgin olive oil, nuts, avacados, fish, natural peanut butter, olives)
Water constantly sipped throughout the day.
A full night's sleep.
Resistance exercise three times per week. That's weight lifting. To get thin, fit, lean whatever phrase you choose, you have to do progressive resistance training. Everything else may drop a little weight but will not burn the flab in a short period of time (if ever). You build muscle and you lose five lbs of fat and you look like you lost 10. Your posture improves. You go down pants sizes. Your breasts lift. Your hiney lifts. Your mind gets clear. Your confidence goes up every day because you just feel more in command. I'm not exaggerating, look at the demeanor of anyone that is truly in shape. With extra muscle you burn more calories. Oops, went off that eating plan and ate half a pizza. Its insignificant. Your metabolism is a furnace with the extra muscle. That indulgence will not affect your weight one ounce.
When you hear people say, "Its so hard to lose weight but so easy to gain it" that is because their metabolism is screwed up from yo-yo calorie cutting, fad diets and lack of muscle.
Look, I cannot jump inside you or stand next to you all day and keep you motivated. What I described is the ONLY thing that works in the long term. You are not gonna get big. You are not gonna get bulky. That takes years of heavy training and steroids for women.
Good luck. I hope these words at least echo in the back of your mind. When you are ready to accept them, you will become the person you seek.

In order to lose weight you need to burn more calories than you take in. A pound is equal to 3500 calories, which is a sensible rate to lose weight. It's best to stick to losing 1-2 pounds a week or you may slow down your metabolism and actually burn off less.
Make sure you have a healthy diet and its a good idea to have a bit of protein in if you want to keep some of that muscle and stablise your metabolism. Remember to replace any high sugary crap with fruit and veg as well as high fibre foods to keep you fuller for longer. Make sure you do get carbs in for the energy as well and your vitamins are essential of course.
Usually the body burns around 2000 calories a day, so aiming at taking in at least 1500 is a sensible idea. Just make sure you don't try and starve yourself by eating quite a bit below this (around 1000) otherwise you WON'T get any results. Seriously. If you do your body goes into a "famine" mode and will actually start feeding off your muscle instead in order to get the energy required. Then you will look fatter, become weaker, blah blah blah world goes boom..
Doing your cardio/aerobic exercise will help trim and tone your body a bit. The best is probably running as this can burn around 300 calories in only 30 mins, but swimming, cycling or any sport as just as good as well. Try doing this for around 3-4 times a week and you should see results.
If you want to keep yourself toned, you need to make sure your body doesn't start breaking down muscle for energy as your body is already at a calorie deficit. By doing a bit of resistance training (using light weights if you want) or yoga can tone your muscles a bit and keep them stablised whilst the majority of the time, fat will be burnt instead. Aim to do this around 3 times a week.
That's about it, i'm trying to lose a bit for the summer as well so i'm in the same boat : ).
Good luck!

sadly there is no quick fix that will last if you want to change your physique. However the best way to do is a balanced diet with reduced fat intake, combined with regular low intensity exercise. a long jog will help you lose more weight than a short sprint. walking is the best way to burn calories so do a 1-2 hour walk every day
what you were suggesting was the atkin's diet which puts a massive strain on your heart, and as you have been told before you will regain the weight in at least a month.

okay since all the other people gave you weird answers that looks like its off a diet website and links, I'll give you my answer!! =)
I have tried every quick weight loss thing (I dont have that much to lose I am 139 lbs) but anyways, I never could lose more than a pound a week, I did low carb -- NO carb diet and in 4 days I lost 5 lbs.. that is not even a joke. It does wonder right away but its hard to not eat sweets....
I got so excited that I lost so much in such little time, I rewarded myself by eating - a LOT - and here I am now hahaha...
If you want to do it, I have discovered Blaine's Low Carb cooking show, sooo many awesome yummy recipes, just google it and it will take you to the food network site and you can print off the recipes
