What Do You Think Is A Better “cheat” On A Low Carb Diet — Grapefruit Or Popcorn?

I’m doing the Atkins diet, and I have been for about 3 years. I only had 15 pounds to lose to begin with, but to keep it off, I have to say at around 30 carbs per day. WELL, lately I’ve been craving 2 things, and I don’t know why: grapefruits and popcorn! It’s either 1 WHOLE pink grapefruit or about 2 cups (measured) of popped pop corn with olive oil and butter on it. Which do you think is less bad of a cheat? Which has a lower glycemic index? Thanks so much for any immediate help! I’m soooooooo hungry and I’m craving these!!! THANK YOU!

I think drinking the Grapefruit juice is better because jucie doesnt have fat in it. But it is ok to eat popcorn sometime but not all the time.

Grapefruit is pretty good for your body, not only for the nutrients inside of it, but it also helps with boosting metabolism and burning fat. So that can’t be a bad choice.
As for the popcorn… popcorn’d be fine if you didn’t want to put two different kinds of fats in it. It stops being so guiltless at that point, perhaps just butter or just olive oil and not both?
I’m not the type to go for exact numbers on diets, so i’d go with the fruit. it’s tasty, healthy, and has more sustenance than popcorn which is too light and full of air, and will probably not make you any less hungry later.

Do the grapefruit. It’s natural. I suggest you try to include as much of the thick white stuff under the skin as you can tolerate. Its good fiber, calorieless, and may have other benefits(ie, cholesterol flushing)and it will fill you up.
Popcorn ( I love it) is not bad but remember the high heat, the salt .Its more fillig but i would never be satisfied with 2 cups.
Why not rotate on them if you love them both but stick with the grapefruit if you can.

    3 years…wow.
    Grapefruit.
You’ve had no fruit for 3 years? How are you getting your vitamins?

popcorn. Usually doesn’t have much in the way of sugar and it has loads of fiber, which is great because it’ll keep you fuller longer.
