What Are The Highs And Lows Of Going On A Low Carb Diet?
Why go on a diet?
Why not just cut back on the unhealthy foods, and eat more veggies and fruits.
A diet won’t do you any good, what happens when you lose the weight you want to? Are you going to stay on the diet? or are you going to stop?
You need to learn how to eat right, not how to take important foods out.
Of course, macaroni and cheese isn’t healthy, (way high in carbs) but that doesn’t mean you can’t eat it every now and then. Self control, is the key to lose weight, not diets.
There’s a reason there’s a food pyramid, and suggested servings. If you learn to eat those suggested servings, plus get in prop exercising, you’ll lose weight.
I’ve tried it in various ways and finally decided it was unhealthy if not outright dangerous. Any diet that prohibits or restricts fruits and vegetables and encourages huge amounts of animal protein just can’t be healthy over the long term.
I eat about 60-65% carbs now with most of them coming from bread/rice/pasta. Those foods also contain protein so I get plenty of that without needing piles of meat. I’m not a vegetarian but I did cut back on meat quite a bit.
A few years ago I took on a new sport and 8 to 10 hours of activity a week plus the high carb diet has me at about 9% body fat.
Highs of a low carb diet? I never found any advantages for weight loss.
Lows of low carb diet? Total lack of energy without massive amounts of supplements ($$$). Problems with regularity in the bathroom. High grocery bill (meat is expensive). General concern that it wasn’t healthy. Hated not eating the foods I loved.
going on a low carb diet is not healthy. i reccoment taking out all white breads…pastries, processed foods like crackers, cakes, ect.
add all grains to your diet. go to a health food store, i work at one and they have alot of whole grains to choose from. you will loos the excess stomach and body weight, have alot of energy, loose fat and will start to glow. instead of a low carb diet, try eating only organic (if posible) fruit and veggies, whole grains, and healthy fats full of omegas…peanut butter, flax, coconut and olive oil, olives ect. eat lean meats a few times per week…halibet, tuna, salmon, chicken ect.
good luck!
