The induction period or phase one of Atkins is designed to break your carbohydrae addiction- the need to eat starchy, and sweet foods. Please understand that it is designed to last for only a wek or two, not more than 14 days. After this you will begin to add healthy carbs beginning with vegetables, followed by dairy, then fruit then whole grain. The idea is to train yourself to develop healthy eating principles
I never heard of gaining weight on the induction phase. You have to understand that protein and fat stave- that is stops- hunger. If you are doing the induction phase properly and one portion isn’t enough to satisfy, I would eat a larger portion
I do atkins myself and have successfully graduated as it were to the third phase. Maintaining my weith is easy now , and I do not crave unhealthy carbs as before
    Good luck

Yoghurt has lots of protein … whey protien … it also has a blance of carbs aswell when you feel the urge to eat carbs … have a half cup of plain yoghurt with a spoon of vanilla flavoring and a splanda to sweeten.

You’re heading down a dead end road on a low carb diet, in my opinion. Eat a balanced diet of about 60% carbohydrates, 15% protein, and 25% fat. Carbohydrates are very essential, please don’t cut them out! It all comes down to calories in vs calories out. So yes, you can gain weight if you eat more calories than you need regardless if they’re from carbs, protein, or fat.
