Is This Diet Possible?
i started going to a personal trainer and i told him my goal was to decrease body fat so he put me on this diet:
180grams of protien
27grams of fat
60grams of carbs
im a vegetarian and he knows that so getting my protien is hard and the only way i really get it is through protien shakes but even in the most healthiest low carb protien shake i end up having 25grams of carbs for every 48grams of protien. the fat grams i understand but getting that much protien with that little amount of carbs is literaly imposible. this is day 14 of this diet and i have not been able to eat less that 115grams of carbs even on my best days. even apples have 25grams of carbs in them.
do you think this diet is a little crazy? is it even possible to get that few carbs in each day on a 1200 calorie diet?
Hi,
I am always impressed that there is oftentimes some good advice and good links from people helping others through Yahoo_Answers.
After reading your question I saw you were interested in optimizing your nutrition [(-:] so even though I may not be able to answer your question exactly as you may have wanted it answered, I thought I would take the time to pass on some pointers I have learned the hard way from my own bad ‘uninformed’ choices, so you could learn about good advice and bad advice about good nutritional choices.
After having many bad health problems from listening to people who knew very little about the consequences of choosing LOW nutritional statistics, I really-really encourage you to learn from good nutritionists what to eat for a life time. [See below]
My best to you and to your future health,

I have learned what I now know after my own lengthy research efforts to improve my health – after ‘FINALLY’ listening to unbiased researching nutritionists. I have shared extensively concerning the most critical nutritional statistics that are common to us all at: <> http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;…

Also, after all my previous health problems due to following a-lot of bad advice, I can now understand the frustrations of other health researchers in the following quote within “The China Study” by T Colin Campbell pg 1: >>==>
“Even though information and opinions are plentiful, very few people truly know what they should be doing to improve their health.”
“This isn’t because the research hasn’t been done. It has. But the real science has been buried beneath a clutter of irrelevant or even harmful information – junk science, fad diets and food industry propaganda.”
“The China Study” by T Colin Campbell pg 1
High protein diets are usually “crash and burn” type diets. They work well to begin with then come to a complete halt or you immediately gain the weight you lost right back after you move away from the high protein diet.
I reccommend having a good balance of all the essential food groups and just makes sure it is all in moderation. Taking your calorie count down to 1400 should help you lose weight at a safe and steady pace.
Cleric God is wrong about protein absorption limit, but 180g a day is getting close to the amount a 200lb guy looking to build muscle should be eating, is it really necessary?
Your body cant digest more than 60grams of protein a day… you’re over doing it. There’s nothing wrong with carbs BTW.. just eat them in the morning and make sure to use that energy to work out with.
