After working out my daily calorie intake using an online calculator, it has come out @ 2300 per day! (based on the fact that I exercise 5days per wk – cardio & resistance)
This sounds an awful lot to me (i’m 21, 5′6 & 59kg)
I want to lose 7-10lbs and tone up so am going to drop my calorie intake to 1750 per day, with a 40/40/20 protein, carb, fat ratio!
(28.8g fat, 180g protein, 180g carbs)
Does this sound about right??!
My current diet is around 1300 calories per day but im getting thinner but flabby! So was advised to up my caloire intake as my body could be in starvation mode and I will be losing muscle mass! Every 2 -3 weeks lower my calorie intake a further 250 to keep losing weight!
Will I see results following this plan, with ONE “treat” meal per week??!

I’m 18 years old and a senior in high school. I’m 5′10″ and weigh at 160lbs. During Christmas break, I was experimenting with a new high protein diet to see if it would get my abs to show better. I’ve been working at my abs for a while now and just want to know how I can get a cut body. Prior to the high protein diet, all I did was count calories and played tennis. That was when I could see my abs the best but I looked pretty scrawny so I wanted to bulk back up again. I know that what you eat determines whether or not you can see your abs or not so can anyone give me a diet plan or what I need to eat for a six pack? Also, I’ve tried eating 8 small meals every 2-3 hours during the break and found myself to be starving the entire day. I had quit the small meal routines because it interrupted with my school schedule (can’t eat in class). Now, all I do is eat a big breakfast (eggs, cereal, skim milk, whole wheat bread, grilled chicken, and coffee) then eat only when I’m hungry after that and try to keep the calorie count 2000 or lower. I don’t know whether or not to watch my carb and fat intake so if anybody know, please help me out. Also, does anybody know how to make loose skin retract faster? Thanks to all.

Well, I’m 5′4″ 1/2 (Last time I checked) and I weigh roughly 158, so yeah, I’ve over weight, but I’m mostly having problems with my love handle and thigh area. I’d like to be around 120, but I don’t think that it would be possible to reach that in three months.
So, I figure I would eat low calorie meals. I haven’t completely figured out my diet plan, though, but I figure it would be something like this–
Breakfast- Eggs & toast (no butter), and an apple.
Lunch- Vegetarian “chicken” patty & salad.
Dinner- I live with a large family, and it’s all up to my mother on what we eat, but usually it’s a lean meat, salad, a vegetable, and a carb.
Is that okay? Should I try something different? I want to lose weight the healthy way. As for drinks, I only drink ice water and green tea.
For working out, I heard of this cool trick that after every time you use the bathroom, you do 20 bicycle crunches. I also do a bit of weight lifting, dancing, jump rope, and this fun thing on On Demand called “Cardioki”
How much weight do you think I’ll lose? Am I doing this healthy? Please help! Thank you in advance!

My wisdom teeth are coming in & I need to get them removed. I’ve been looking for food suggestions that won’t irritate the area after the surgery, & I’ve come up with the same: ice cream, mashed potatoes, pasta, etc.
The problem is that I’m currently on a diet & if I spend my recovery time eating only these high-carb & high-fat foods, I feel like I’ll re-gain all the weight I’ve worked so hard to lose.
So basically, can anyone suggest SOFT, COLD, LOW-CAL/LOW-FAT FOODS that won’t make me feel guilty on top of my physical pain?
Thanks a lot everyone!

Zeroties Ze • rot • ies
· This decade (2000-2009) needs a name and Zeroties is it.
· Like the Twenties, Thirties, Forties, Fifties, Sixties, Seventies, Eighties, and Nineties, Zeroties follows the pattern.
· Zeroties is up against one other candidate name – Aughties/Oughties. This British word “aught” means zero and does not appeal to Americans. (As a hidden bonus, when you say Zeroties you hear “Aughties” in the middle.)
· Zeroties makes sense because zero has been a very dominant idea and word in this decade.
· Zeroties “says” zero ties the decade together… …and it really does.
· Once everyone sees the need for and usefulness of the word Zeroties, it will win their hearts and minds.
· ZERO has my hero ever since School House Rocks declared it so. Ever since kindergarten, zero has rolled off our rounded lips.
· Zero is both the lowest and the mightiest number. It is a value of none, but it makes the place-value system work. 1 is 1 until 12 zeros follow it. Then it jumps all the way to a Trillion 1,000,000,000,000 Wow! That is going to be a “looo, ooo, ooo, ooot” to pay back.
whenever i’m with a good friend of mine who i am romantically interested in (she is very thin, eats alot, and has a great metabolism) she constantly pushes junk food and while i feel no tension eating it with her and having a good time, i only do this because she has dumped guys that were too self conscious (specifically about their weight) and if i refuse she looks dissapointed…
what could i say so i can stay on my diet without her thinking i’m obsessed with looks?

ok, I am SO confused! Diet has got to one of the most confusing aspects to training, which is why I’m pretty gutted it’s the most important part! Right now I’m trying to get rid of around 6% bodyfat, currently being at or just under 15%. I think I have a pretty good idea of how many calories I need to take in, but am quite confused about actual foods… Like some people say carbs should be low (I have cut out bread and pasta – my weaknesses!) I agree with this but I don’t have a clue what carbs are ‘acceptable’. I don’t eat crap like sweets and cakes and biscuits, and for now have cut out bread and pasta etc however carb are everwhere, like in meusli, nuts well you know. Are these ok to eat on a fatloss phase? Plus I also read some fruits are high in carbs (as sugars) but I just can’t see the logic in cutting out fruits (and potatos for that matter). So can someone please enlighten me?! Finally here is roughly the foods I am currently eating (oh and I’m veggie) meusli with semi skimmed milk (semi for nutrients and fats) a fair bit of fruit, vegetables, eggs, nuts (plain Brazils, almonds, cashew etc) quorn, salad, tofu, vegetable oil (obviously mixed into meals) and I drink water and sometimes a weak squash… Finally I also sometimes have some whey protein powder. How does all this sound? I wanna have it right rather than get frustrated after weeks of nothing. Oh finally I am male, 18yo, 5′10″ 74kg (I think it’s around 140lb), and very active mostly doing intense exercises (strength work, football (soccer), athletics and tricking) THANKS SO MUCH!!!
