			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have recently started a fitness regime in an effort to get fitter, healthier and lose weight.  I visit the gym around 6 times a week and do classes including spinning and body pump.  I am losing weight at a healthy rate (approx 1-2 lbs per week) but my body fat percentage remains quite high.  I have been told that managing my diet can help reduce my body fat percentage more quickly than exercise alone.  Which would be more effective to help reduce my body fat percentage &#8211; a low fat diet or a low carb diet?  Or maybe just good old fashioned calorie counting???</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Okay so I am 28 years old and am hypoglycemic (opposite of diabetic) and would like to lose 20 pounds or so.  I did the low carb diet 4 years ago and lost 20 pounds which was when I quit drinking sodas, swore off fast food and went &#8216;organic&#8217;.  Over the last 4 years, the weight has crept back up (husband is hispanic and loves tortillas!) I have always been active w/ snowboarding, mtn biking, kickboxing so I have a lot of muscle.  Daily food is protein shake bfeast, snack of veggies, lunch grilled chicken garden salad (I go home and make), another veggie snack and for dinner I have a few beers (Bud select) and usually chicken/asparagus or beef/zucchini.  I am also using the dailyplate.com to track what I eat and it says my calorie intake is only 950!  This is of course taking in my excersize.  Is this ok?  Do I need to eat more?  I feel fine and am eating healthy, but the low calories intakake concerns me.  Will I lose muscle? This is not new lifestyle-been living clean for a while</p>

Also, I was supposed to lose a bit of weight. When people say &#8220;high protein, low carb diet&#8221;.. I don&#8217;t understand it.. I knew calories were a part of the weight thing but what do carbs do and how do they affect you?<br />

This sounds an awful lot to me (i&#8217;m 21, 5&#8242;6 &amp; 59kg)<br />
I want to lose 7-10lbs and tone up so am going to drop my calorie intake to 1750 per day, with a 40/40/20 protein, carb, fat ratio!<br />
(28.8g fat, 180g protein, 180g carbs)<br />
Does this sound about right??!<br />
My current diet is around 1300 calories per day but im getting thinner but flabby! So was advised to up my caloire intake as my body could be in starvation mode and I will be losing muscle mass! Every 2 -3 weeks lower my calorie intake a further 250 to keep losing weight!<br />
Will I see results following this plan, with ONE &#8220;treat&#8221; meal per week??!</p>

the workout schedual is as fallowed<br />
monday-upperbody (pecs,tricept,bicept,shoulders,back,neck…<br />
tuesday-sprints (15&#215;100yd-5&#215;200yd)<br />
wednesday-jogging (usually about 10 miles with a few breaks,)<br />
thursday-abs,sides,traps,lower back<br />
friday-lower body (quads, gluets, hamstring, calves, hip muscles)<br />
saturday-sprints (15&#215;100yd-5&#215;200yd)<br />
this is just general<br />
i am taking creatine and nitric oxide at normal levels<br />
also im on about a 4300 calorie diet<br />
pre workout- creatine nitric oxide protein shake<br />
post workout- choco milk (for the carb protein ratio) french bread two 8 ounce steaks four eggs and 2 cups of soy milk<br />
also taking multi vitamins, and fish oils, along with alot of other nutrient suppliments<br />
anwyays i would really appreciate any tips<br />
