			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>My day started out okay. I began with a coffee and english muffin for breakfast. Went to work, every now and then I would nibble on some chicken and pasta salads (curse me for working in a deli lol), for lunch I had homemade chicken salad on a low calorie (110) bagel. (base of chicken salad was 1 tbsp. fat free miracle whip)<br />
But then I started to get munchies. I had a sugar cookie from the bakery, some homemade chocolate covered cherries, and a few Hershey&#8217;s miniatures my boss left for everyone. After work, I stopped at a store to pick up my usual specialty diet items, as well as some ice cream I&#8217;ve been wanting to try since summer. lol<br />
I got home, I dove into the ice cream cuz it was soft and melty on the top and sides (best time to eat it lol), after that I watched a tv show while indulging on holiday candy my family keeps around. (and I do whine and complain endlessly when they bring that stuff home argh &#8211; it goes in one ear and out the other!)<br />
Anywaayysss, so now that I&#8217;m sugar loaded, carb bloated, and all that other fun stuff, what do you recommend I do for damage control? I already have plans on hitting the gym first thing tomorrow morning, but what should I do about food? Should I try to stay REALLY low on carbs for a day? My usual daily intake is around 1,400..  should I lower this to maybe 1,200 the next couple of days?<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I am a Type II diabetic (just over two years).  I manage my diabetes through diet and exercise.  Per my work with a dietician, for a person my size I am limited to 81 grams of carbs at breakfast, lunch &amp; dinner; 30 grams of carbs for my mid-morning &amp; mid-afternoon snack; and 20 grams of carbs for my evening snack.<br />
Today, I had 45 grams of carbs for breakfast, 30 grams of carbs for my mid-morning snack and approximately 70 grams of carbs for lunch.  Two hours after lunch, I got an 86 on the meter.  I have had this same issue a number of times.  Several times after what I thought to be particularly carb intensive lunches &#8211; 60 to 80 carbs, I have scored from 96 down as low as 72 on the meter.<br />
Any thoughts?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I used to be a vegetarian, but noticed that I was feeling quite weak. I was also always hungry and shaking when I did not eat for a while. I saw a dietitian and he put me on this high-fat, high-protein, low carb diet.<br />
It is not like I cut out carbs completely. I still eat fruit everyday, along with a serving of bread each day, and I eat veggies, but not as a main source of food like I used to. I now eat more meat and have been noticing that I feel better and have lost weight.<br />
I was originally 5&#8242;5 and 135 lbs, and am now 127 lbs.<br />
Why is this? Does my body just run better on high fat foods? For instance, I can eat a serving of salmon and feel SO full, whereas I would have to eat 5 bowls of ceral to feel full. I feel like an oddity.</p>
